Handmade by a local leatherworker in Wiltshire out of rugged saddlery brown leather. We are moving from stitched chisel tips to copper rivets, see picture attached.
They are made with 3 layers of leather to create a leather block for the blade to butt onto at the base of the cover. This will give more protection to the two outer layers of leather as the chisel blade will not be cutting into them.
Sizing your tip guard:
If you are buying a standard bevel edge chisel then choose the size that corresponds to the size of your chisel.
If you are buying a thicker gauge chisel, like a firmer or a framing chisel, then we recommend choosing the"Framing" size option. Henry Taylor Heavy duty framing chisels & MHG Power grip require the "Framing option"
Please let us know what chisels you are using and we will help you size the appropriate tip guard.
